Event
History
2011
- Our
third year promised to be our best year ever with the additional
of an autocross event and a strong registration. Unfortunately
an freak hail storm was announced by the national weather service
at 5AM that morning that scared off many people. However, the
weather cleared by 10AM and we were blessed with sunny skies the
rest of the day! We still had a good showing and the autocross
event proved to be a great addition and a huge hit! Steve Prewitt
(MCA President) was our guest speaker and we had a respectable
showing from many of the clubs that attended in 2010!
2010
- Tupelo
cruise in our second year the event was expanded to include a
showcase of Mustangs during the month of March, many of which
were participting club members cars from across the South East.
We also included an evening private get together and dinner at
the museum. This included live music, the unvieling of a recently
restored 70 Mach 1 and guest speaker John Clor from Ford Racing!
The number of clubs present expanded to 13 including five MCA
clubs (Shoals
Mustangs (Muscle Shoals AL), Gum
Tree Mustang Club (Tupelo, MS), Mid
South Mustang Club (Memphis TN), Mustangs
of Memphis (Memphis TN), and Magic
City Mustangs (Birmingham, AL). The event was a huge success
drawing over 140 cars and 300 people!
2009 - Tupelo
cruise started out as an informal get together between five regional
Mustang clubs in the Mid South. Participating clubs included Shoals
Mustangs (Muscle Shoals AL), Living
Legends Mustang Club (Jackson MS), Gum
Tree Mustang Club (Tupelo, MS), SVTOA Memphis (Memphis TN)
and last but not least Mid
South Mustang Club (Memphis TN). The event was a huge success
drawing over 70 cars and 120 people!
All the clubs arrived
around 10AM for an informal show and shine at our destination,
the Tupelo
Auto Museum. Club members socialized at the meet and greet
and brought food from one of the local resturaunts back to the
museum where tables were set up amongst the cars for people to
sit, eat and get to know other Mustang enthusiasts! Everyone agreed
that we needed to do the event again in 2010!
